Kim Kardashian has yet another multi-million dollar business to put under her belt.
Her latest venture, the highly-anticipated SKIMS Solutionwear line made well into seven figures just minutes after it was released.
According to reports, within minutes SKIMS surpassed the $2 million mark after the product went live Tuesday (Sept. 10). Every product, which is priced pretty competitively, sold out almost immediately. Kardashian is now working to restock items.

So my friends and family are starting to get the @skims press boxes and I’ve never had a better response from everyone loving and feeling the product and this makes me so happy! I know shape wear better than anyone! I’ve been cutting and fitting and sewing my own versions of what I always wanted my shape wear to be and now everyone can have it too! We launch Sept 10th SKIMS.COM
This is a first for shapewear products similar to SKIMS. For example, Spanx brought in $4 million in the first year, as SKIMS made half that in a few short moments.
Kardashian even had to push the launch back an hour after the amount of activity on the site caused it to crash. Kardashian previously teased the line with Alice Johnson, a woman she helped get released from prison.
She debuted the name in August after facing backlash for the initial name, Kimono, which many said was an appropriation of Japanese culture.
“My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me – I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name. After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of SKIMS Solutionwear™ coming September 10. I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies.”
For the brand’s debut campaign, the mother of four enlisted her four famous sisters to model the designs alongside Alice Marie Johnson, whom Kardashian helped get out of prison, and 25 other real women, who will speak to how SKIMS “empowers them to feel the best versions of themselves.”
